Youth was made from two excerpts of Lou Ye’s Summer Palace (2006), a film narrating the disillusionment of the young idealists in the late 1980s. The original film is banned due to its depiction of political events and sexual scenes. The film was projected and re-filmed with a piece of Plexiglas hanging in front of the projector to obscure part of the image. A piece about youth.
